The Brief

We were tasked to rally the sneakerhead community up and down the country to educate them on eBay’s Authenticity Guarantee, and pump new energy into the sneakerhead culture.

The Approach

How were we going to reach such a huge community in such a short space of time? We did what we had to do… we went on tour!

We pimped out a blank Step Van with all the trimmings- branded promotional assets, uniforms, and even complimentary eBay ice-lollies, and took to the sneakerhead-filled streets of London, Leeds, Manchester, Glasgow, and Nottingham.

Once we arrived, we made ourselves known; we had sneakerhead DJs on hand performing live sets to hype up the crowds and reel them in.

Alongside the public, we’d contracted 37 sneaker-mad influencers to drop by and get their kicks verified by our independent authenticators.

Then, through a mix of content types, we echoed the event on socials to push for more interest, more engagement, more #eBaySneakers!

The Results

Bringing eBay’s Authenticity Guarantee to the real world? Check. Uniting a huge community of sneaker-lovers? Check. Positioning eBay as a trusted source for people to expand their sneaker collection? Check.


We pulled out all the stops for this campaign and that drove eBay’s message to unforeseen levels. Not only did we smash KPIs set for the live event itself, but our Mobile Authenticator trekked all over socials, and we’ve got the stats to prove it.
